back to the East walker

I will be heading back to the east walker tomorrow.  The weekends get pretty crowded out there on the california upper nevada section but the weekdays stay pretty mellow.  Last week I saw a monster brown landed on a size 18 dark brown baetis.  There were a lot of small gray baetis hatching which can be imitated by basically any dark color baetis fly, or a dark hares ear.  I caught two fish in two casts on a size 16 hares ear grub with olive ribbing before I broke off on a monster fish and lost my fly.  My indicator went down and upstream real fast, then suddenly... snap! My line must have had a wind knot because it snapped about as fast as the indicator went down.  This time of year the fish start looking for golden stones but with the recent snow I imagine those flies wont be too effective, tho worth a shot.  The first rig that I am going to fish will be a olive baetis size 16 with a hares ear grub following it.  If that doesn't work for me Ill probably try that golden stone I was talking about.  Weather permitting I think the fishing will be pretty good tomorrow.
