High Alpine country

My buddy Dave Hamel told me about this wild place where you can catch huge brown, cutthroat, and brooke trout and showed me a picture of a 6 pound brook he landed there last week.  The thing was a pig.  It didn't take much convincing on my part to get him to go back so we headed out at 5:30 am to go slay the monsters.  We floated around looking through the water hoping to see something we wanted so bad to be there but the fish were hanging too deep to see.  When we started getting into the fish it took some RIO t10 on the tip of my III sinking line to get it down deep enough.  After a little while on a slow retrieve I pulled two cutthroats up from the depths and my buddy Dave pulled out one.  He also landed a 16 in brookie and a whitefish.  All in all, pretty sweet day.  Oh and if your wondering why those fish are hanging in such little water its because they are still breeding all the way into late July.  Don't worry we didn't disturb them or fish for them.
