Still Stacked!
I couldn't get yesterday off my mind, so to appease my wandering mind in school, I bailed early from my lab work and raced down to the same spot I hit yesterday. When I got there I realized that I couldn't find the essentials; my money maker stones were gone, I had one midge left, and my split shot had up and vanished! That makes nymphing kinda tough, so instead I found an old stone pattern, threw that on with my one remaining midge and dropped that whole rig under a heavy ass craw daddy to sink the whole rig down. I couldn't get down in the water column as well as yesterday and had to use a lot of line under the indicator which made me miss a lot of takes, but I got lucky on a few drifts and managed to pluck this guy out. I don't think river fishing gets too much better than this. I mean seriously, how many rivers do you have the possibility to catch rainbows and browns over 5 pounds. I mean, this guy wasn't quite that big but you bet your money that they are in there and when the time is right... BOOM! And the fish are healthy, fat, and rich in color too. I have been really happy with how healthy all the fish I have caught have been and long their runs and fights were. The bum that was on the banks when I caught this guy seemed to think it was a land locked salmon, then he changed his mind and said it was a carp, then decided that he was wrong and finally stuck with thinking that this guy was a dolly varden. I agreed and smiled. Anyway, thanks for reading my blog.
