Seems a lot like last year

The flows out of Boca have been kept high for the past two weeks, the river has been above 700 cfs and normally were flowing at around 500.  This is because of irrigation needs throughout the Truckee river valley, but it really makes fishing the bulk of the river not as much fun.  The water clarity is OK, not too dirty where I would be happy using streamers along the banks, yet a little too off colored and high to be happy with nymphs.  Basically were stuck in limbo until these flows drop.  There are still fish and they are still eating, keep with the usual stone and pt or caddis.  Be sure to use a lot of weight and fish runs with pools behind them.  Dont focus too much on the pocket water yet, wait till the flows drop a little.  Here is a brown I pulled out behind a rock in some deeper water on a stone.

Sounds a little tough-- that's a decent little fish though, I was always happy to find a brown on that river...
