Starting to get the hang of it

I have been waiting for a long time to be able to fish with an effective streamer set up on one rod and a nymph rig on the other, and today I finally got to.  I went to one of my favorite summer spots because I got a tip from a good buddy, Dave Hamel, that the fish were holding in that specific run.  I was hoping, as I always am, that things were gonna go my way and I was gonna take some shots with a monster brown.  The cloud cover and temps were good, but the browns didn't want to play.  Fortunately, I am starting to get the hang of switch casting and fishing streamers on the swing.  I am really familiar with the runs that I fished today so before I got to close to the water I boomed some line down river and swung it from one bank back to the other right over a deeper pocket that always holds fish.  Sure enough I got a quick bump, then a hard take and this bow was on.  He fought well for his size and I was very please to land such a pretty fish.  I fished for a while longer with my switch rod and mixed it up between nymphing and swinging.  I got a few more takes on the streamer but nothing really strong and no hook sets.  As I was writing this post I got a text from Dave saying his other buddy caught a 6-7 lb bow just up river from where I was fishing.... damn.
